Monday night saw two separate Scud attacks on Israel, the first Scud, which was the 32nd to be launched against Israel caused no injuries or damage as it hurtled at 7.30 in the evening into an unpopulated area in the centre of the country. There was another alert two hours later, but this Scud did not arrive in Israel. It was at 1.30 a.m. that Scud #33 hit a prosperous residential area in central Israel. Seven people were injured, but serious property damage was limited to the immediate area of the impact as homes in the area were very spread out. In this blast damage was mainly blown in doors and windows. Some thirty houses and 190 apartments were affected by the blast. One house was totally destroyed. Nearly 800 homes have been damaged by missile attacks since the start of the Gulf war. Photo shows IDF spokesman Nahman Shay at the Scud missile spot in Savion.
