Copper alloy and gem seal matrix. Oval two sided brick red semi-translucent gemstone matrix within a stepped copper alloy hoop with a hole at one end of diameter 1.5mm, presumably for attachment of seal to fob. One side of the matrix bears the profile bust of a bearded and moustachioed man with a radiate crown and diadem, facing left (on the impression); the hair of the beard in particular is tightly curled, and the general impression is of a Neo-Classical rendition of an eastern potentate, possibly a Persian king. The other side depicts a bound sheaf of corn. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1750-1850.Length: 17.7mm, Width: 15.8mm, Thickness: 5.5mm, Weight: 4.05gms, die axis 12.
