Xavier Noiret-Thome's "The Mutilated Muse", an installation that is a kind of depiction of a still life, is one of a series of similar gestures that revisit and redefine the artist's relationship with the processes of creation and perception of his own role and work. With apothegmatic clarity, he shifts the boundaries of both image and object, of models or artistic gesture, of the recognizable or the elusive that remain pending, real or false, active or disembodied. The artist participated in the exhibition "Who is here?" held in 2007 at the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art in Thessaloniki. As part of the exhibition, an artistic interdisciplinary and interactive workshop was organized in the premises of the Yedi Koule on the theme of confinement and lost time, and the work was created on site and donated to the Macedonian Museum after the exhibition.
