Kostas Polychronopoulos' work "Execution" reflects the formal problematics of the artist's sculptural forms, which is observed in most of his works from the period 1970-1975, and thus evokes broader associations in the viewer. The characteristic posture of the body, the intense red colour of the figure and the absence of the head testify to the artist's strong influences of the events of the seven-year dictatorship, the suffering of the people and constitute a kind of protest and resistance to the junta regime.
