Lead weight in the form of an equal-armed cross with flat underside and convex upper side. A median rib on each round-ended arm ends in a small round vertical projection (one recently squashed, one missing through ancient damage or miscasting). The ribs meet in the centre around a small circular perforation. Hole diameter 2mm at the top and 3.5mm on the underside. 41 x 36.5mm. Thickness 9mm. Weight 46.54g / 1.4960oz troy. So perhaps for 1½ ounces. No parallel has been noted, so dating is uncertain. The object perhaps belongs to the 12th or 13th century.
