Copper alloyWeight. Cast rectangular weight, with a stamped design, now indistinct, enclosed within a circular border on one side. The good definition of arises between the flat sides may suggest this object was filed to shape, though corrosion now obscures surface detail. This could approach one third of a French Troy ounce (30.6gms), which would be 10.2gms (Egan 1998, The Medieval Household, page 310, no. 979). Suggested date: Medieval, 1350-1450.Length: 20.5mm, Width: 20.1mm, Thickness: 4.3mm, Weight: 11.32gms.
